Wickersham Construction and Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce we recently completed construction of the new Middletown Train Station. This Middletown Train Station’s distinct building includes two stair/elevator towers, a pedestrian overpass, weather canopy and a 500-foot pedestrian platform. The project began in June 2020 and took 18 months to complete.
The pedestrian platform is located between the tracks. The tracks and wires remained operational during construction. Extensive safety precautions were implemented to safeguard our crews while trains powered by high voltage electrical lines between 6,900 volts – 135,000 volts traveled through the work site.
Once assembled, the 75-foot pedestrian bridge over the tracks was lifted by crane into position and set between the two towers.
Additional improvements to the road intersection, parking lots, and stormwater system were made to accommodate the increase in community usage.
