Nestled in the heart of Harford County, the new Darlington Library provides easy access to books and other resources for the local community. The Darlington Library is classified as a boutique library which offers current New York Times Bestsellers. It offers many more unique features including a 3D printer; kids reading center; two private reading and work rooms; outdoor lounge; and free rentals such as game night kits, tablets, fishing poles and other recreational sports and games.
Wickersham was the general contractor awarded the renovation project and is very proud to be a part of an exciting project that benefits the Harford County community. This was a total renovation to an existing building, which consisted of demolition of all interior and exterior finishes, a new entrance and reading rooms addition, new paving and sidewalks, and a new FocalPoint system to collect rainwater and filter it into the infiltration pond. We converted the existing canopy into a covered outdoor lounge space with a new exterior gas fireplace and expansive room for lounging and reading.
We tied into the existing Harford County Parks and Recreation trail system to connect the library to The Grove and the Agriculture Center. The trail can be utilized for hiking, biking and horseback riding. There are many more exciting features the library has to offer and we highly recommend paying a visit to get the full experience!
